Hello Class of 1963!

My husband tells me I have to be honest and not make up anything too fabulous or exotic that we have been doing over the past years, or my nose will grow. Can't have that, so I will try to summarize the last 45 years without being to boring!

After high school I stayed in Klamath Falls and worked for a couple of years. I then moved to Fresno Ca. for a while. In 1966 I moved back to Klamath Falls and married Bill Owens, (KU class of '61).

We have two grown sons. Our oldest son B.J. is single and a lineman for Pacific Power in Grants Pass. Our youngest son Brian is married to Angie and they have two children, Emma, six and Cody, ten.  Brian works for Pacific Power also. They live in Medford.

For 18 years I loved working for the Klamath Falls School District. I retired in 2000.

Bill retired from Pacific Power and Light in 1998, then continued working part time for a few more years in the same field. He finally retired "permanently" in '08. ( His nose might grow too, if he is not telling me the truth, as he has retired a few times now!)

In 2002 we moved to the Medford area to be closer to our family.

We now enjoy golf , winter months in Palm Springs or Arizona and traveling in our RV.

Bill and I recently had our 42nd  wedding anniversary and he presented me with 2 tickets for an Alaskan cruise. (I think he had a senior moment as the date on the tickets say September 12th, 2008.....so we will miss this reunion. Hopefully we will be at the next 1963 reunion and see ALL OF YOU there!

The last five years have certainly gone by quickly, but the last forty-five have really moved on!!! Jim and I moved to Tonasket in 1991 and I worked for ten years as a lab tech at North Valley Hospital. I then worked for five years at MidValley Hospital in Omak and am now back at MVH. Three years and two months and I will officially retire. Never thought to be saying that! My ambition when that finally happens is to be able to work on a Habitat for Humanity.I am getting plenty of experience on my own place. Have replaced all windows and most of the siding and hope next spring to remodel the bathroom. My son and daughter-in-law live in Tonasket and I have four step grandchildren and six great grands. My oldest daughter is in Walla Walla and have two granddaughters. The youngest graduated high school this spring. My youngest daughter is in Irrigon and have 2 and 2 (regular and step) granchildren. Two have graduated and are waiting for the last two. Will be a few years yet. My pet project is finishing a 35 Plymouth Jim and I bought in '96 and it will be my memorial to him.

Hi classmates!

After KUHS graduation I studied Electronics and Electro-Mechanical Oregon Institute of Technology. In 1967, I took my first career job in San Diego, working on space and missile communications systems. In 1969 I joined Union Carbide Semiconductor division in San Diego, and have traveled the world marketing semiconductors ever since working for National Semiconductor, Philips Semiconductor, LSI Logic, and now Actel Corporation where I just completed my 6th year and am currently enjoying a 6 week sabbatical pert.

In 1974 I married the greatest gal ever…Cora Keltner, and this year we celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary. 2 months after we were married, we moved from San Diego to San Jose to join the silicon valley club to go to work for National Semiconductor, where I stayed for 21 years. Cora and I have 2 great kids, Alicia (29) and Jonathon (23). Alicia is a special education teacher in San Jose for 1st and 2nd grade children. Jonathon served 4 years in USMC, making 2 tours in Iraq: on the Syrian border and then Ramadi. Thank God he came though unscathed. Upon completing his USMC contract, he joined California National Guard in Escondido and is currently on a 2 week traini ng mission in Ukraine, and in January will go to Germany and then Kosovo for the rest of 2009. We’re very proud of both of our children. NO GRANDCHILDREN YET HOWEVER L. Cora is the Director of Customer and Marketing Services for Aurora Networks, an up and coming supplier of communications equipment for the cable TV infrastructure network. Cora and I are fascinated to work in industries that are fundamental to world-wide electronic systems and communications, but are looking to slow down a bit within the next couple of years and move to our lovely vacation home in the Sierra foothills, that I have been remodeling for the last 3.5 years. My hobbies are music, wine tasting, being the house handyman, and reading.

Since graduating from KU I have lived in Redding, California and now live in Palo Cedro 12 miles east of Redding. I live on 20 acres with 6 dogs, two grandsons ages 15 & 18, one daughter and three horses. Through the years I've shown on the quarterhorse and paint circuits.

I love to travel and recenty took an Elderhostel tour of the Greek Islands in May 2008 with old friend/classmate Darlene Gentry Clawson. I look forward to many more travel adventures in the future.

After high school I went to OTI and graduated in 1966 with a double major.  My last year I interviewed with the Los Alamos National Lab inLos Alamos, New Mexico, and accepted a job with them.  The lab is a federal lab of the Department of Energy, and was run by the University of California.  It was a great place for many years to work and the jobs were diversified and interesting.

I retired in 2005 with 40 years of service credit (I know the dates don’t add up, long story there).  At the same time I was working for the lab I worked for the Los Alamos Police Department as a Reserve Officer in the evenings and on week ends.  I started with the PD in 197 and retired from there in 2007 at the rank of Lieutenant after 28 years.  The last 17 years I was a firearms instructor for the department and ran the firearms training program for the last 9 years.

It was a lot of hours and fun but decided to hang it up and travel with my wife, Janet, of 24 years.  We sold out camp trailer and bought a motor home in 2007 and have been traveling around for the last year.  We have no children, and spoil each other.  We have been going to Oregon for salmon seasons, wintering in Arizona, spend a lot of time in Colorado in the summer, golfing.  Its been great. I won't make the 45th reunion but am going to try to make the 50th.
